LEVEL II – SENIOR BALANCE RETRAINER VESTIBULAR THERAPY COURSE – New Jersey – July 10-11, 2021

The purpose of this course is to extend the Level I Balance Retrainer to the intermediate level in Vestibular Therapy. The Senior Balance Retrainer Course extends the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant into understanding the eight most common balance disorders seen in a physical therapy practice. The course breaks down how to differentially diagnose these patients using an evidence-based approach versus pattern recognition. For the physical therapist assistant, exposure to how the physical therapist identifies impairments of balance and gaze is critical to treatment. The PTs and PTA will learn a critical component of vestibular therapy called – Sensory Mismatch and will learn how to identify this syndrome using functional balance tools. The practitioners in this course will also learn and review how to assess and treat all forms of BPPV in the posterior, horizontal, and anterior canals using the most evidence-based maneuvers.
